Flowers are another thing extremely suited to colour photography, black and white just does not do them justice. I have literally hundreds of flower photos lots of failures I must admit as the light was possibly just too bright, causing to much contrast, or on the wrong part but if you can get it just right then you will normally have a very pleasing photo. White and light blue are in my experience the most difficult to photograph as they seem to reflect the sun and loose detail.
My flower studies are often "creative" and ot just straight or as is, what is creative well ..............
My definition of "Creative Photography" is:-
Creative Photography contains an unusual viewpoint, a bit extra or less colour than the norm, an added or removed object in the finished image, it is characterised by the ability to perceive an image in new ways, to make connections between seemingly unrelated subjects, to find hidden patterns and to generate results, either in or out of the camera. There are many people who are unmoved by my style of photography but fortunately there are many, many more who like it and it is for both them and myself that I have cultivated it.
this quote is to be found elsewhere on the site and it was only on the
creation of this site that I started to classify my images, before that
they mostly feel into one category "Creative Pictorial"
.

Above is an example of a flowers actually artificial ones which I have
added a texture to enhance the final result a straight image
otherwise.

Above real flowers this time again a texture is added but not to the
main blooms on this
succulents flower I think this works to separate the flower from the
background..
Above an abstract creation. using many photographs of flowers mixed together in a display making a pleasing collage. Is it really abstract I don't think so because everyone mixes there flowers when putting them on display so why can't photographers?

Above even rain can help when photographing plants and flowers look at the effect a good shower of rain had on this large leaf and the surrounding flowers
If you are like me and have a wife who likes gardening then it is possible that you will have plenty of chance to photograph flowers. This is to me a nice grouping or flowers giving a depth to a flower bed.

this too is the young lady
surrounded by a collage of flowers
perhaps a little more visible so more of a portrait than the one
above.
When doing this type of multiple image it is important to select
the two or more images carefully so as not to overpower the
intended subject.
shown elsewhere to illustrate the use of flowers in
portraiture
Above a typical flower study where there is a spray of flowers on a stem but
only the main one or two are in focus, a similar and perhaps more effective way
is if you can have a ray of not too strong light illuminating the subject as in
the banner photo
Above a delicate rain soaked flower
Above Spring of 2017 has brought some lovely blooms to our garden
The above image shows some wet flowers after being caught in a light spring shower
Below this little flower has become one of the most commonly used flowers in my collages of flowers since it has a long blooming period, the light purple petals shows are quite effective in a collage..

Below showing how the almost velvet like petals can be compared to translucent petals, shows how both can be delicate flowers. This Collage contains Daisies, Chrysanthemums, Hydrangeas and others. Spring worth viewing full screen 2017
